Advent Study

Advent Study Series

This Advent, join the Episcopal Mission of Warren County for a time of reflection and renewal as we gather each Tuesday evening from 7:30 to 8:30 at St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church in Youngsville. Together, we will reflect upon Isaiah 9:6 “For a child has been born for us, a son given to us; authority rests upon his shoulders, and he is named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” and ask the question: “Why did the Father give the Son?”

We will journey through the books of Ephesians, Romans and Hebrews—three of Scripture’s most beautiful reflections on God’s redemptive purpose in Christ. And, if time permits, we will conclude by looking at one of the earliest reflections on redemptive work of Jesus in On the Incarnation by St Athanasius. This series invites us to slow down amid the busyness of the season and open ourselves anew to the wonder of God’s gift in Jesus.

Whether you are well-versed in Scripture or simply curious to learn, you are warmly welcome. Come, bring a curious spirit and an open heart, and let us prepare together to celebrate Jesus’ arrival.
